An Endless Series of Distractions; Debut solo Edinburgh show 2006

Description:

"A young girl sits alone in a deserted shop, with too much time to think and only a Patrick Swayze-obsessed cat with whom to share her theories on life. There are songs. There is a binocular-weilding baker. There is a man who worships the enormous face of Lionel Ritchie.

This is the magical world of Ruth Pickett. Wit and wordplay mix with a generous dollop of childlike innocence and a couple of jokes about poo.

'An Endless Series of Distractions' is a hilarious comedy about a girl, a guitar and a wilful imagination, and is Ruth's hotly anticipated debut solo show."

"Something quite special...brilliant" - The List

"A newcomer with a future, a sweet, sparkly performer...if the two Vics, Wood and Reeves, had a daughter, then Pickett is what she'd be like" - Independent on Sunday
